We have seen too many of our clients accused of "Date Rape" in the absence of a single shred of evidence other than the word of the alleged victim.  These cases are based upon the word of a single person (the alleged victim) with stories that are not compelling, consistent, or unassailable. 

As insensitive as this may sound, many of these charges are lodged by a person who voluntarily got intoxicated, consented to the sex in the moment, and simply regretted this fact later -- sometimes many months later.

Meanwhile, the target defendant has been contacted by detectives for questioning or taken into custody.  Both of these situations present unique challenges to the defense attorney.
