One Car Only - if it was just your vehicle you wrecked, then all we need to do is help you get your car fixed. You will need a little advice along the way, not a lot, but call us with questions about body shops and insurance adjusters - we don't trust either.

Parked Cars - if the road was narrower than you realized or you didn't see that Ford Excursion parked ahead of you, then you probably hit it. If you stopped, you probably got arrested right there. If you drove home, then you got arrested a while later. Chances are your front license plate fell off, someone followed you, someone got your plate, or the oil leak left a trail right to your garage.

Moving Cars with Occupants - these cases are really sensitive. We won't know for a while the extent of injuries, if any. Just because no ambulance came to the scene does not mean the other folks are "OK". Personal Injury lawyers will solicit their cases based upon the accident report that is now online. If the injuries are serious, the odds are you have been or will be charged with a felony. This is called Aggravated Vehicular Assault. You are now facing a minimum of 1 year in prison and legal fees in excess of $15,000.

If the accident resulted in death of another, then an entirely different protocol is immediately deployed to help. Legal fees for Aggravated Vehicular Homicide normally start at $25,000.

Aggravated Vehicular Homicide Cases are some of the worst cases any lawyer can be involved with.  More often than not, an otherwise innocent motorist (or motorists) are tragically killed as a result of the erratic driving of another person.  If law enforcement suspects alcohol or drugs were the proximate cause of the accident, then the "at fault" driver will be charged with vehicular homicide.  If the defendant's driving was "reckless" or the driver was DUI at the time of the collision, then the defendant will be charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide in Ohio.

Prison is mandatory for DUI based Aggravated Vehicular Homicide.  The sentencing range is 2-8 years in prison.  If the predicate offense is "reckless" driving, then the prison range is 1-5 years.
