Jury Acquits Client in 40 Minutes
Our client was charged with Ohio DUI / Ohio OVI. After a 2 day jury trial, the client was found "Not Guilty" in about 40 minutes.
Our client was accused of Ohio DUI / Ohio OVI after a routine traffic stop. He allegedly failed the field sobriety tests according to the arresting officer -- one of the top DUI police officers in Columbus. Our client chose not to give a sample of his breath since the officer had already decided to charge him with DUI. We entered a "Not Guilty" plea and our client maintained his innocence throughout multiple court dates and continuances. After the prosecutor refused to dismiss the charge or reduce it, Attorney Steve Fox advised the client to proceed to a jury trial. The officer testified and his arrest video was given to the jury to consider. Our client testified. The jury deliberated for less than 45 minutes and returned a verdict of "Not Guilty".
